My Best Friend's Ministry

“Everybody needs a best friend — let us be yours.”

When the worst news of your life lands, you don't need an office or a form letter. You need a friend who shows up and stays. That's what this ministry is — hope and comfort for people facing tragedy, one person at a time.

Ministry line: (407) 906-0852 — leave a message, and a real person calls you back, usually the same day.

“When the storm hits, everybody needs a best friend. We bring hope and comfort to people facing tragedy, because hope is never lost — and we're here for you.”

Our mission

Who we are

Founded by a man who knows the storm from the inside

My Best Friend's Ministry was founded in Orlando, Florida by Robert Ennis — an inspirational speaker and ordained minister living with Parkinson's disease. Robert knows what it is to get the worst news of your life and wonder who will stand with you. This ministry exists so nobody has to face that moment alone.

A best friend is someone to be there for you — someone to talk to, to get advice from, to encourage you, to cry with you — whatever the case may be. That is what this ministry shows up to be: not an office, not a check in the mail — a person who stays.

“Here at My Best Friend's Ministry, we believe that everybody deserves a best friend. Let us be yours in the time of crisis.”

“Look at what I've been through, and what this family has been through, over the last four years — the tragedy, the surgeries, a cancer diagnosis, and my own diagnosis. If we didn't have our best friends to lean on, I'm not quite sure any of us could have gotten through it. That's where the name My Best Friend's Ministry comes from — and that's exactly what I want us to be for somebody else.”

What we do

We show up like a best friend would

1

Speaking

Robert shares his testimony — Finding Strength in the Storm — at churches, Celebrate Recovery and recovery groups, and gatherings across Central Florida. He speaks from inside the storm, not after it, about finding strength, faith, and reasons to keep going.

There is no speaking fee — ever.
2

Showing up

Talking on the phone. A cup of coffee. Sitting with you at the hospital while a loved one is sick. Being there in the middle of a crisis — terminal illness, addiction, cancer, or anything tragic in life. Presence first, one person at a time or a room at a time.

3

Encouragement that lasts

The message doesn't end when the talk does. The ministry carries Robert's name and story forward, so families who need hope later can still find a friend standing there.

About Robert

Robert Ennis

Robert Ennis is a former sales manager from Memphis, Tennessee, now living in Central Florida with his wife Angela and their family. Diagnosed with Parkinson's in March 2023, he speaks from inside the storm — not after it — about finding strength, faith, and reasons to keep going.

His own best friends carried him through the hardest years of his life. This ministry is how he passes that on.

This is a call-back line, not a call center. Leave a message and a real person calls you back — usually the same day. Nobody should have to face a crisis alone, and you won't get a machine reading you a script.

In a true crisis, call 911, or call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline — help there is immediate, day or night.

Giving opens soon

Partner with the ministry

This ministry runs the way it serves — personally. Robert speaks at no charge, and the work is carried by people who believe everybody deserves a best friend. We're finishing the last steps of our Florida charitable registration, and as soon as it's complete, giving opens right here.

When giving opens, you'll be able to:

  • Become a Best Friend partner — a small monthly gift that keeps the phone line answered and Robert on the road to the next room that needs him.
  • Give a one-time gift — help cover the everyday costs of showing up: travel, printing, and the ministry line.
  • Give with confidence — every dollar goes to the ministry's own account and is logged. Ministry money stays ministry money.
